AGM 2023
The Brechin Photographic Society Annual General Meeting was on Tuesday 4th April 2023. It was decided to have the meeting on Zoom to allow members who still prefer not to meet in person to have the opportunity to participate.
The 2022-23 committee stood down and a new committee was proposed. Norman Mackenzie agreed to be our President again with Charlie Allison carrying on as Vice President. Steve Carle, having served as Secretary for two years, passed on his duties to Barbara Boden with Iain Wilson, Treasurer, and Anne May, Competition Secretary, continuing in their roles. Committee members for the next year are Mike Eyers, Paul Thomson, Steve Carle and Tim Caselton.
Norman gave his report for 2022-23 and summed up another very successful and interesting year for the society. Iain was thanked for putting together a fascinating programme of speakers from all over Britain on a wide variety of subjects. We were able to have some meetings back in St Andrews Hall as well as getting together for several outings.
Most judging this year was on Zoom but we did have Al Buntin ARPS MPAGB from Monifieth deliver the results of the Colour Print, Mono Print and Digital Image of the Year in person. It was really good to see actual prints again and to welcome a judge to Brechin.
The trophy winners for 2022-2023 were announced and congratulated.
Looking forward, the committee hopes to provide a programme of speakers, competitions, members’ nights and outings to engage, entertain and help us all improve and develop our photographic skills.
